Tyson Tyler is a hip-hop natural. His ability to transform tracks into epicness is instantly recognized by anyone fortunate enough to be exposed to his music. His vocal tone is second to none and his raw rugged attitude on tracks, make him a force to be reckoned with.
Born in Australia but raised in South Auckland, Fijian blooded Tyson has worked hard to perfect his chosen craft. From the age of 15 he has been writing and producing his own music, at 17 he was accepted to attend the Dawnraid “Str8 From Tha Streetz 2” music programme, solidifying his choice to become an entertainer. Graduating the course three months later with his first professionally recorded song from the course “South Auckland Anthem” co-produced by Chong Nee, the song became somewhat of an underground classic, forging an early impression in the young talent’s career.
He’s been active in the NZ Hip-Hop community for over 10years – with 10mixtapes and a debut album Reality Cheque under his belt. Now it’s time for him to step it up having come under the arm of Illegal Musik.
His debut single under Illegal Musik ‘Go Hard’ featuring J.Williams announces his arrival, a breath of fresh air and an anthem for those that are chasing their dreams.
The follow up single was ‘My Life’ featuring Jae’O –is a heart felt autobiographical account of life to date for the young MC. A powerful story of one man’s journey through life – a real life account that will transcend and connect with listeners far and wide. To lift the track into the stratosphere the smooth vocals of rising R&B artist Jae’O add another dimension.
The biggest urban tracks of 2011 ‘Go Hard’ and ‘My Life’ by Hip-Hop juggernaut Tyson Tyler is back. In 2012 Tyson unleashed ‘To Be King’. A record that connects with every musician’s aspiration of rising to the top of their game.
His latest single Universal Language has been received extremely well at radio with a great video shot in Australia to match, leading us to the release of this EP Victory Road with an album to follow next year.
This EP “Victory Road” is a brief introduction to Tyson Tyler’s journey as a recording artist. It shows a relatable struggle in which any person can identify with and is heavily driven by inspiration, aspiration and ambition to succeed and reach goals. Victory Road is just that, the road to victory.
To aid Tyson in bringing these stories to life he’s recruited a hit squad of producers, Yorel, Tenei and Illegal’s very own N.O.X. These producers bring the stories to life as they traverse themes of chasing the dream, the obstacles one must overcome to get there and ultimately achieving it. With an over-riding message to keep the listener motivated and to roll with the punches life dishes out and stay the course.
All songs have been remastered to bring a new appreciation to all singles on this EP for a new level and benchmark has been set.
