What’s good people… Thought we’d give you the heads up and tell ya that our girl Erakah will be opening for the Official Stan Walker Tour throughout NZ. With her album complete its a great chance for you all to see what’s she’s pulled together before it hits stores in March.

If you love Live music it don’t get any better than this and with our boiz ‘The Levites’ playing for both Erakah and Stan Walker we can guarantee it will be a show stopper!!!

The new single from our boi DJCXL ‘Natural’ feat Erakah and K.ONE is currently blaz’n the airwaves and to add fuel to the fire – the video has just been released. Gotta shout out everyone that helped on this one. The team at Fresh PR and STORM; Strickzon Salon; LRG and all our friends that gave up their time to be in it – a shit load to mention so add your name (here…).

Gotta give props to my boi Patriarch who directed this and Producer/DOP Tatsuya who bought this altogether as well… Dopeness!!!

K.ONE Unleashed: Make Way for the Next Generation

So a lot of people have been hitting us up wanting to know a bit more about K.ONE. So, here’s the 411 on the latest signing to Illegal Musik.

Now if you’ve followed the underground Hip-Hop scene you may or may not of crossed paths with K.ONE. It seems to be a breeding ground for some incredible talent, in years gone by the likes of David Dallas, PNC, Mareko, Scribe to name a few have entered through these avenues and become some of the country’s most prolific MC’s.

It was through these channels that we at Illegal Musik caught a glimpse of K.ONE who captivated our ears with his story telling ability. Over countless emails and calls between K.ONE and Patriarch (Illegal Musik) his demo’s were worked to a stage to present to the rest of the team and once we got to check these tracks – you could say we discovered ‘The Future’.

At the same time as the demo’s were put on the table a window opened up on the DJCXL track “My Love’ (The Remix) and we wanted to add a new dynamic alongside the virtuoso – Scribe and K.ONE delivered pure heat on his verse.

I’d say this was the turning point for us and we needed to get the kid from Masterton up here and grindin in the studio. Four months on it’s probably one of the best decisions made on both sides, burning the candle at both ends he keeps surprising us with his ability to switch things up. Live shows (all over NZ), countless recording sessions and features on two new releases from the stable.

• The new DJCXL track ‘Natural’ alongside Erakah

• Vince Harder on the single ‘Alone No More’

• And to mark his arrival he drops his debut single ‘Never’ feat Junipah

Day & Night – new single from Erakah

It’s been a while since you last heard from Erakah. She’s been working tirelessly on her debut album which is coming along very nicely…

The latest single is pure heat, with super-producer NOX working magic to complement Erakah’s mind blowing vocals… but it wouldn’t be complete without the right MC on it.

Enter: BeatKamp Musik’s ill-spitting MC JR to lay fire across it.

The video shoot was shot a few weeks back with our boi Liam Williams (who’s worked on the likes of Bjork & Massive Attack)… Still a few weeks to go with editing and then into post-production.

Gotta send some love out to the mad team behind the scenes: EJ Strickzin/ Leo & Kylie on Styling and Make-Up…
