Brooke Duff, 21 years of age, started singing in church at the age of 10, but during a 5 year stint in Australia it was through musical theatre that her talents were actually recognised. Her voice caught the ear of a music director, leading to her being cast in lead roles for two major productions, ‘Patsi’ and ‘Peter Pan.’ At the same time she was one of 50 youth singers from around Australia to form the ‘Australian Youth Choir’ in 2003.
Fast forward to now and Brooke is following a different path, that of a recording artist, and a newly successful one at that. She first joined the Illegal Musik roster 18 months ago and since then, has been impressing everyone who crosses her path with what has become her signature, the huge voice that belts from her tiny frame. Working predominantly with the Illegal Banditz & label mate K.One she used that time to develop her skills both in the studio and on stage; now it’s Brooke’s time to shine.
In 2012 her debut single ‘Til The End’ was released and immediately took the nation’s airwaves by storm, achieving the following:
– Debuted at #27 on the Official Top 40 (A total of 8 weeks in the charts)
– Peaked at #21 on the NZ TOP40
– Top 20 highest selling single of 2012
– Top 10 All airplay on radio
– No.1 NZ Airplay
– 27 weeks at radio
The huge success of her first single has all eyes on the young singer from Christchurch. In high demand across most media platforms Brooke is becoming a very familiar face. A nationwide tour supporting Boyband ‘Titanium’ solidifying her popularity and confirming she was meant for the spotlight.
Her EP Kaleidoscope is now available.
With the success of her debut, the anticipation of her next single, some big collabs in the making and being on the line up of some of the biggest festivals in the country, 2014 is shaping up to be huge for Brooke Duff. Expect big things, a star is born…
